Listeners may have noticed something different this week: cleaner voice tracks, tighter music transitions, and a wider sense of space on every programme. That is the result of a major studio upgrade completed over the past month, including new microphones, a refreshed mixing console, and acoustic treatment designed for long-form talk as well as high-energy music blocks.
Technical director Alex Rivera said the project focused on consistency. “We wanted presenters to sound natural whether they are whispering during a late-night story or hyping a Friday anthem,” he explained during a walkthrough broadcast live on air. Engineers also rebuilt the monitor chain so guests in the studio hear exactly what listeners receive at home.
The upgrade supports our expanding remote interview lineup as well. Improved codec paths and backup lines mean fewer dropouts when artists call in from tour buses, home studios, or festival press tents. Producers can now layer sound effects and music beds without masking speech, which has already improved our documentary-style segments.
